Many coaching classes charge exorbident fees and make tall promises like 100% marks and guaranteed admissions.
On 22 July, 2015, Legislators expressed similar concern in the state assembly.
Education minister Vinod Tawde said "Besides controlling fees and quality of education, we will ensure they do not cheat students by releasing attractive advertisements assuring admission and placements". He also said that the state had started working out the legalities to regulate the classes.
Coaching classes in Maharashtra may have to follow fee structures, hold parent-teacher interactions, select better places and infrastructure for classrooms, and ensure quality teaching staff. The state government will introduce legislation to regulate coaching classes which are being run without proper registration and regulations.
